Diabetes 2
I have been a diabetic for over thirty years and I’m still alive. I have also heard stories about people who have developed many problems concerning diabetes. For some reason I have managed to avoid most of them. Before I knew what to do I had two heart attacks, I became sick in other ways, related to diabetes. So I asked myself, do I want to get better or do I want to get worse? I picked the first choice. And the first thing I did was I did research on things you can do to get better. I had to realize that there is no cure so far. The doctors were right about that. And all those ads on Facebook and you tube were all scams. I admit I fell for a few of them. My bad, I guess I was desperate.
The first piece of advice I got was, exercise. Second, eat healthy and less. If you are diabetic and overweight, that’s not good, sorry. So, where do you go from there. If you are overweight there is a good chance your stomach is big. Your stomach is not your belly. Those are two different entities. You shrink one you shrink the other. But you have to start with the stomach. How can you do that? If you have a big stomach chances are you have stretched your stomach over the years by eating more than you needed to. What some people have tried is getting a tummy tuck. Well, if you don’t change the way you eat it may not work but then again it might. Your choice. If you decide to go the other way then you can be proud of yourself. If you eat less every day your stomach will shrink and you will not feel as hungry anymore.
So, now you have two goals. Lose weight and bring your sugars down.
Now that you have decided to get your sugars down, this is what I did and it worked.
If you don’t mind eating some of the same meals all the time , what I did was make a meal schedule and each time I ate I checked my sugars and recorded them and I gave myself insulin according to how high my sugars might go. Each time I had that meal I eventually knew exactly what the numbers would be. If the numbers were high, the best thing to do is to either give yourself more insulin or eat less. I chose eat less but that’s just me. But remember you’re also trying to shrink your belly and your stomach. I know checking your sugars can be expensive and at first it was. But in time you won’t have to because you will know, unless you ate something that wasn’t on your schedule. And it will happen once in a while. Don’t stress it. So now because of all this I have breakfast and give myself eight units of insulin then at lunch time I have a balanced meal and I give myself eight units of insulin. Next comes dinner, eight more units. Then before I go to bed I check my sugars and if it’s low I eat a brownie and if it’s not low I go to bed. I know you might get hungry between meals but what I found is if you wait ten minutes the hunger pains will disappear, guaranteed.
Here’s an added bonus. I can’t guarantee that this will work for you almost every time. If you find yourself going to the bathroom three or four times every night, try this. It sounds ironic but it works for me. It also goes against what a doctor might tell you so here it is. Take a glass of water and take twelve gulps. That’s it. Not more not less. I might get up once but rarely twice. My partner gets up more than me and she’s not diabetic.
Another thing I found that helps regulate blood sugars , believe it or not, gluten free bread and gluten free pizza. I’m not totally gluten free but it’s a start. hen I eat gluten free my sugars don’t go as high. Bonus.

Suicide:
No need to give you the definition of suicide. It’s all too obvious. No one wants to die, some people just don’t have a reason to live.
But you can always find a reason to live.
Different people give up for different reasons. Some give up if they lose a loved one or a job. Some people give up if there seems to be no solution to a problem. Example, I knew a man many years ago who was in debt because of a gambling problem, so instead of trying to fix the problem he killed himself. I was in that same situation once and I could have gone that route and I did think of it. I’m glad I didn’t follow that course of action (twenty years later). It solved HIS problem but it started a whole new set of problems for his family.
I knew of another man who tried to fix his problems with suicide, a problem I was familiar with (without going into detail). Imagine where I would be today if I had followed his example. You would not be reading this book today.

Side Effects:
Have you ever read the pamphlets that come with your prescriptions. They can come with as many as fifty side effects. I sometimes wondered why? Here’s my theory on that. Whenever the pharmaceutical companies come up with a new drug and doctors prescribe them to this patients they probably ask them to let them know if they have side effects. Then, after a period of time and many reports they send their results back to the pharmacy and then they get together and publish a pamphlet.
The reason the list is so long is not because everyone will get these side effects but because you can get one or more of them. Thank goodness. The problem lies with the fact that everyone has within themselves the potential to get these side effects. Another problem is that when you read these side effects you might think you will get one or more of these. This is called the necebo effect. So, one person got a side effect, passed in on to their doctor, the information, not the side effect and the doctor passed on the information to the pharmacy and the pharmacy passed on the information back to you. I’m not saying that the medication is bad. Well maybe I am. It is bad if the side effects are worse than the original problem. As you can tell, I’m not big fan of drugs. If I’m desperate enough I might try it, but more often than not, it doesn’t work out. Like I said, Just a theory .

EMOTIONS:
Emotions can affect your health. Positive emotions equals good health and negative emotions equals bad health. It may or may not depend on how the emotion is evoked. It’s the thought that counts. Emotions are affected but your thoughts and your health is affected by thoughts. You may find it hard to believe but think about it, it may save your life. I know, believe me I’ve been there. Don’t you go there.

Constipation:
I know it’s a shitty subject but someone has to bring it up. Have you ever sat on the toilet for what feels like an hour or an eternity and nothing is happening. Well, there’s a simple solution. No, not medication. Too many side effects. I do this and it works every time.
While you’re pushing, like when you’re Pregnant. If you’re a man, not you. What you do is rock back and forth and voila. It might even work if you’re pregnant. Just an afterthought. Not an after birth. Everything will work out in the end. Yes that’s a pun.
I wish I had thought of this when I was five years old, I would have saved myself a lot of pain. No need to do this if you have diarrhea, no pushing required. Also, no need to be embarrassed, no one is watching.
I thought that constipation was something new brought on by medication. It is maybe and it’s not, maybe. Either way constipation is constipation. Right now the big things are cancer, heart attacks and diabetes. Different subjects all together. Three hundred years ago and even longer, the big thing was constipation, believe it or don’t. Maybe even during the time of Adam and Eve. Maybe not, they were more perfect then. So it was.
You would not believe the different things that have been invented to help relieve constipation. Check on Google. There was one contraption that looks like a Dildo. No thank you. There have been people who were so full of shit (hence the expression) that the only thing that would probably work is a C Section. Go on Google and see for yourself.
Unlike the constipated mathematician who tried to work it out with a pencil.
May the force be with you

NEW WAVE EXERCISE:
How would you like to exercise but can’t because of disabilities or age?
Well it’s possible. How, you may ask? What if I told you that it’s possible for you to do 100 pushups with very little effort. What if I told you that you could do the impossible of doing 100 chin-ups even if you weigh 300 pounds. What if I told you that you could lift 300 pounds weights without any effort and with the same results that you might have actually doing all that without doing all that and more?
Here’s how. Use your imagination. Imagine in your mind doing all the things I’ve just mentioned with a new twist. While you’re imagining doing, let’s say pushups, tense the muscles you’re imagining you are using. Don’t count the pushups you are doing, that can be distracting and may defeat your purpose. There is something else you can do. While you’re imagining doing the pushups imagine the exercise making your heart stronger or your brain sharper, or anything else for that matter.
This method can be used for other things. To become a better basketball player or baseball player, anything really. I know this is probably pushing it but maybe even a better lover. It depends on how good an imagination you have. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still necessary to do things. This will just help you to do more of the things you like, better. Imagine working out with a treadmill or exercise bike without having to buy one. All this in the comfort of your own head and lazy boy.
There have been examples of people who were paralyzed from the neck down who did this and managed to walk again. The only thing you need to do all this and more is, desire, faith and determination. Don’t take my word for it, do some research. It’s all there on line and in books.

What are the first signs of Alzheimer’s and dementia?
Memory problems, particularly remembering recent events.
Apathy and withdrawal or depression.

Trouble understanding visual images and spatial relationships.
Impaired reasoning or judgment.
Memory loss that disrupts daily life.
Challenges in planning or solving problems.

6 habits that may increase your risk:
Not moving your body enough or sitting for too long.
Not socializing enough.
Getting inactive sleep.
Being chronically stressed.
Consuming excessive amounts of alcohol.
Eating an unbalanced diet.
Before you decide this can’t happen to you. Think again. It can happen to anyone. And before it happens to you, it’s a good idea to rethink that. It can happen to you. And if it does happen to you and you do nothing, it’s too late, unless someone you love recognizes it and decides to help you. If you have read my first book, “What was I thinking”. It’s not too late. Love is the key component. No love, No cure.

The brain:
It can cure anything given the right circumstances. The right motivations. Like they say, “The right stuff “. If you have a belief system that is strong enough, you can achieve anything. Not just curing disease.
What do you believe, when it comes to your health? It all depends on you, really. Throughout the world, there are so many beliefs and if you think about it they all have their merits. When you think about it, they are all related to the same thing. The brain.
In my first book I told you that many medical problems could be fixed with exercise and in my experience it worked. My doctors told me that diabetes could be controlled with medication. That didn’t work for me. The doctors also told me that tremors could be controlled with medications, two to be exact. That didn’t pan out. Then I tried hypnosis to no avail.
You would not believe how many so called remedies there are out there to help you and how many that they are coming out with every day. The funny thing is, they all work. But only if you believe. Placebo.
There’s acupuncture, acupressure, aroma therapy. I could go on and on and bore you to death but that would defeat my purpose. Can’t cure that or can I?
What do all these things have in common? Your belief, your thinking, your brain. All these so called remedies can only work if you believe they can. The stronger the belief the faster the cure. Maybe by the time this book is published I will have proved it to myself and others. Only time will tell. Wish me luck.
In one of my other thoughts I talked about placebo and how that works. A patient is given a sugar pill and is told that it will cure his sickness and voila it works. Placebo, the power of the mind, not the pill. The same thing happened to me, twice. Exercise helped me with two problems I had. I had the opportunity to know all this twenty years ago but I wasn’t listening and the reason I wasn’t listening is because I was well. Don’t wait till you’re sick before you listen. Remember we are living in the age of knowledge, don’t ignore it. Your life depends on it.

Reading,Exercising and Vitamins versus Laziness , Ignorance, (which is not bliss) and side effects:
Reading, Exercising and Vitamins versus. Laziness, Ignorance (which is not bliss) and Side Effects.
We (humans) are slowly poisoning the planet and it looks like the planet is fighting back. Can you feel it? If you’re young and healthy you are not feeling it yet but these things have a way of sneaking up on all of us. The thing is we ignore the signs. Side effects are our bodies way of telling us “don’t do that”. Let me give you an example. The first time I tried marijuana. I became very paranoid (side effect) and I didn’t do it again for a while. A few years later I thought I would try it again. This time I became paranoid again plus disoriented. You’d think I would have learned my lesson. But I didn’t. The next time I did it I got paranoid, disoriented and cranky.
It’s like when the oil light comes on in your car and you ignore it or maybe even put a piece of black tape over the light. The light is a symptom of the problem, just like a sneeze is a symptom of a problem and medication is the tape.
Dental hygiene:
When was the last time you went to see your dentist? Or do you even have one. When I was younger, the only time I went to see a dentist was when I was in so much pain I thought I would go crazy.
It’s the same thing with the earth we live on. When it comes to our air, water and food, we ignore the problem or covering it with tape. That is not the solution.
There are some things we can do to protect ourselves, health wise. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Reading (research). Exercise and Vitamins.
There is something else, but I’m not 100% sure about this but it can’t be worse than the alternative. Homeopathy! The only problem with that is it’s not covered by medicare. It should be. If it works better than the alternative, why not? I’ve done my research and it does look viable. But, again, is this another lie. I hope not. I’ve tried a lot of things and I’m open to any suggestions. Cross your fingers.

Belly fat:
Getting rid of belly fat is just as slow as how you got it in the first place. It took many years to develop a big belly so if you are trying to get rid of it, it won’t disappear overnight. I have a belly, not big but not small. If you are hoping to get rid of it with a pill, you are wasting your money. the best way is to develop a strict diet and a strict exercise program. If you are not willing to put in the time, don’t even start. If you like your pot belly and your wife or girlfriend likes it, more power to you. If I don’t like a pot belly I’m almost 100% sure she is not a big fan, unless she’s in the same boat. Then you are made for each other. There was a time centuries ago when men liked beefy women. More power to them. Now, and I don’t know why, but, slim women (with big boobs) are more desirable. Beggars can’t be choosers. I know some men and even some women like beefy partners. If (and that’s a big if, pun intended) you are trying to get rid of your belly fat, go on u-tube and type in “u-tube, exercise for belly fat”. There are videos for just about anything when it comes to exercise. Exercise you can do at home. I found that out during the pandemic. There are no exercises to get rid of a fat lip, just ice. Ice doesn’t work on belly fat.

Oh, come on. I was never one to catch to many colds or flus. Never had a flu shot and never wanted one and I’m still alive, so to speak. Age is not a friend of colds or flus, and colds and flus are not a friend of seniors. And I’m sure I didn’t friend request them. I’ll probably survive, but I don’t think my budget will survive. Just the amount of Kleenex and toilet paper alone has put me over the limit. I wonder if we can get the government to give us a hike in our pensions to compensate for this. They can call it the influenza tax or the Kleenex tax rebate It’s January and here comes round two.

Exercise:
I know I’ve mentioned this before, talk about flogging a dead horse, but it can never be said enough. If you want to be healthy, exercise is very important. No one knows this more than I. When you’re younger you may think that it may not be as necessary. You may think that your work is exercise enough and you may be right but if you work in an office, not so much. That’s why many people who have a desk job go to the gym. Good for them. I use to go to the gym when I use to work. Now that I’m retired I work out at home (every day).

Ageing gracefully:
I wasn’t quite sure what I should call this article. Aging, old age or maturing. As you can see I obviously made a decision. Old age didn’t sound appropriate and maturing didn’t sound accurate. Not everyone progresses equally when it comes to aging. I’ve seen it firsthand in senior homes and in my own life. I’ve seen some ( no names) who act like babies when they get older and some who lose bladder control. I better be careful what I say, I maybe well on my way there. Some people age gracefully, some not so much. Some get better looking as they age, some not so much. Many (like me) lose their hair. Many gain weight. It does’t necessarily have to be that way. Eventually yes, but not always. It depends on, by the way, how did they come up with that name, (depends) for adult dippers? There must be a better name, like , “just for you” or “ freedom 75”. Anything but “depends “. Because it doesn’t depend. It’s pretty clear. I’m rambling again. Another sign of aging. What was I talking about? Oh yeah, aging. There’s another sign, memory loss or forgetfulness. Sure glad I’m not old. Is 75 old?
There are many reasons people end up like this. The problem stems from retirement. When you retire a lot of people stop doing. They plop themselves down in front of their television and that becomes their new life. It doesn’t have to be that way. Sure, I watch a lot of television but that’s not my whole life. I exercise every day. I have hobbies, like writing, karaoke and painting. I go on trips once in a while. I have met a few people well into their eighties, nineties and a few over one hundred that are pretty active. I heard of a man over a hundred who went skating almost every day. I met a man who chopped his own wood. Eighty-six. Just a few examples. I’ve never been the outdoorsy kind of guy, so those things are out of the question for me.
I’m writing this article on my phone right now. Since I’m diabetic I need to check my sugars every so often and I use my phone to check my sugars. So, I got up to get my phone …. Oh yeah. Ops. Another sign, the phone was in my hand. If you didn’t catch that you may be a redneck. That’s all I’ve got.

Diabetes:
When it comes to diabetes it’s important to be very diligent. If you’re not it could be a matter of life or death. If your sugars are too high for too long or too often it could affect you down the road and if they’re too low it could cause you to pass out or go into a coma. Been there, done that. Not a pleasant experience, believe me. In my case, I now have a sensor on my arm (Free Style Libre 2) to alert me of danger and its come in handy a few times especially during the night when I was sleeping. My doctor thinks I should try to keep my sugars at 5 but in my experience I keep it at 8. To me 8 is a safe number. When my sugars are at 5 there’s always a chance it will drop. If my sugars go below 4.6, even if I eat something it will keep dropping before the sugar kicks in and believe me low sugars are not pleasant. The best way I can describe a sugar low is, that it’s like being on a bad marijuana trip.
Glucose monitors are a great thing. You can check your sugars as many times as you want to. It’s better to check more often than to wait for the alarm to go off. I hope they find a cure for diabetes soon.

Ignorance is not bliss:
When it comes to some things, ignorance is bliss but when it comes to your health, ignorance is not bliss.
It’s a choice. If you don’t feel good and you do or say nothing you only have yourself to blame. Like I said in a previous article, we are living in the age of information and it’s readily available to anyone and everyone. There are not too many people that are not connected to the internet. If you have a cell phone, you can easily ask Seri and have any question answered within seconds. Medical or otherwise. I use Seri on an ongoing basis. We’re actually on a first name basis. It’s only one sided but we’re getting there. It’s not love but it’s not bad. I tried talking to Alexa but Seri got mad. She can get so nasty. Seri can be pretty funny at times too. I even made her laugh a few times.
Sorry, I got sidetracked. I’ve learned a lot over the years and I’m still learning and still growing even at my age. No one is too old to learn. Even if your retired it’s not to late. As a matter fact, that’s the best time to learn. Do you have something better to do? I didn’t. Thanks Seri, u tube and books too.

Phobias:
There are so many phobias in the world today. Fear of flying, fear of snakes, fear of water, fear of closed spaces, fear of spiders, fear of being buried alive, fear of mirrors, fear of numbers, fear of ants, fear of fresh air (no fear of that), fear of chickens (my favourite), fear of dust (Noella) just kidding dear, here’s mine, fear of long words. Fear of balloons (really), fear of vomiting, (does’t every body fear that?), fear of urinating, (maybe in my pants), fear of frogs, (isn’t that a girl thing?), fear of everything (is that a real thing?), fear of forgetting (that one I can relate to) what was that again, fear of food ( I wouldn’t touch that with a ten foot sub), fear of work (that one speaks for itself, unemployment).
I have a few of my own. Fear of diarrhea (not my finest moment), fear of constipation (ouch), fear of not selling my books (buy my book to alleviate my phobia) , fear of screwing up a joke (which I do all the time), fear of getting sick, or should I say getting side effects from medication, can you guess what my new phobia is??? Here's a good one, fear of phobias.
I just finished reading a book called “Tapping the Healer Within”. It's a book about how to heal Phobias yourself. You know what my phobias are, so, I have a lot to work on.
The question I ask is, how did this book go unnoticed by the FDA and the pharmaceutical companies? I'm not saying this to blow the whistle, it's too late now (bravo). Get the book while you still can, it's just a matter of time.

What were they thinking?
I know “they” mean well, BUT and I don’t mean BUTT, that’s a different thought. When I say “they” I mean Psychologists and everyone else in that field. If you have a theory about helping someone with a problem it’s a good idea to make sure you have all your facts straight. When it comes to mental disorders, did stress cause the problem or did the problem cause the stress?
Here’s what an Indian (from India) sage once said: “Mental disorders can affect you physically and physical problems can affect you mentally”. That makes perfect sense to me, I think. Here’s what I read, if you have anger issues or you are stressed about something it can affect your immune system and in the end cause heart problems, cancer or other physical problems. If you agree raise your hand. Just kidding, I can’t see you.
When I was younger, I heard that if you are angry or mad, get yourself a punching bag and take it out on the bag. I don’t think that ever helped anyone. All it did was make you think about what that person did to you and it made you madder. In the end your fists were sore and the person you were directing your blows at felt nothing. Besides sore fist you may even have compromised your immune system. Double ouch.
There are a lot of areas that can cause stress. You probably know what they are but in the moment you don’t think about it. Here’s a short list: your job, your marriage partner, your kids, your enemies, your lack of money, your car, driving a car especially if you drive a cab or bus or fly an airplane. Just change you attitude towards these things.
Remember prevention is the answer not pills. Preventing disease is cheaper than curing disease. Reduce stress, anger and worry and you reduce sickness. It makes perfect sense to me.

You are so right:
I have just read the book by Kevin Trudeau called, “Natural cures “they” don’t want you to know about”. I started to read this book a few years back but never finished it, because I had trouble believing what I was reading. Now, it’s a different story. I was living what he was talking about, not “the dream”. Now that I’m reading it again, it’s scaring the crap out of me. Kevin wrote that the politicians are allowing all the things that are poisoning us, like medications, air pollution and water pollution , spraying pesticides on food, putting growth hormones in animal feed, etc.,etc… What I don’t get is, don’t they know that they are also poisoning their own friends and relatives (kids, wives, parents)? Let me explain.
About twenty-five years ago I was diagnosed with Diabetes and I was prescribed Metformin and when that didn’t work the doctor added two insulin medications which seemed to work along with diet. Looking back, I’m not sure if it was the drugs or the diet. A few years later I had a heart attack. Then I was prescribed more medications. Then two years after that I had another heart attack. This time I was prescribed something that was probably the best thing they could ever had done. Walking and exercise. I haven’t had another heart attack since. Go figure. I realize now, that sometimes medications can take time to work against your immune system and it did. About six months before Corona Virus hit I became sick, still not sure what it was but I had my suspicions. When I look back, after reading a few articles about Diabetes and how it can cause Tremors, which I had. I didn’t think a disease can cause another disease but, it could have been the medication. So, again I was given two types of medications for tremors, which took time to manifest more side effects. Side note: I later found out one of the side effects was, get this, Tremors. Can you believe that? Like I was just saying, just before Corona Virus my symptoms were: Memory loss, lack of coordination, trouble getting up if I sat down, weight loss, trouble thinking straight. Sixty-nine years old and I thought I would end up in a nursing home. That’s when I decided to take charge of my life. I got rid of most of my medications, except my insulin, until I can find a better way to regulate my sugars. I started exercising, I started taking supplements to help any other problems I still had. And voila, five years later I’m a new man.

Toxins:
Toxins today can be so many different things. It can be plants, it can be food, it can be something in the air, it can be something in the water, it can be our thoughts, it can be medication, it can be sound, it can be things we see or watch, and it can be people. It’s all around us. People are all around us. The problem is, it’s hard to get away from it all. You can’t avoid food, well you can but not everybody can and not for too long. There are things we can do to avoid some of these things. There are some foods that are not toxic, but not enough for everyone in the world. If you are lucky enough or rich enough to buy these foods or you have the means to produce your own food, fantastic! What about meat and fish? Do you have the means to raise your own meat and fish? What about water? Are you living near any pure fresh water? Some people are but not too many. I read recently that even bottled water is toxic. I think I’ll switch to beer or wine or both. What about air? Unless you live in the country you have a good chance to have fresher air. Then there’s thoughts, thoughts are toxic too. If you’re not killing yourself with your own thoughts other people are bombarding you with their negative thoughts. Don’t get me started on prescription drugs. Actually I did get started on prescription drugs and that’s when I realized I had a problem. I don’t think many of these problems will be solved in my life time, considering I’ve already past my expiration date. And I don’t think they will be solved in my kids lifetime either. The only way to fix any of these problems is for all nations to make some kind of legislations. So many problems, so few solutions. What is amazing is, despite all these toxic things that we are now being bombarded with, how is it possible that people are living longer than in any other time period? So I’ve been told. I don’t know how true that is, someone told me it wasn’t true. Imagine how much longer we could live if we could fix all these things. Right now we are taking 1 1/4 steps forward because of technology and 1 step backwards because of technology. After reading Kevin Trudeau’s book I didn’t realize how many things were toxic. It’s scary, to say the least. It’s scarier than reading Steven King’s novels. Reading novels by Steven King is toxic and reading Kevin Trudeau’s book , “ Natural Cures they don’t want you to know about”, I’m sorry, is even more toxic. I think if he had stressed the many things we can do to fix things instead of all the things that are wrong in the world, it would have gone a long way in solving the problems. These problems were not made over night and they won’t be solved over night. The question is , “How bad does it have to get before something is done?” Only time will tell.
I read one time that lead is in every thing now, and in every nook and cranny in the whole world and it will take millions of years for it all to dissipate, but only if we stop using all mechanical transportation. Do you know where I can buy a horse?
I must admit that I was and still am guilty of most of these things and I ended up suffering the consequences with bad health problems. Then I started to wonder if there were any positive things I could do to fix things, short of living in the woods and becoming a hermit. And that crossed my mind too.
So, I went on-line and started to do research. Lots of research. I researched the medications I was taking. Number one problem. The number two problem was food. The only thing I could do was be more careful because I’m not rich enough to totally fix that problem. There’s not too much I can do about the air unless I stop breathing. Not an option. About water, I always drink filtered water, thats one problem solved, maybe. Thinking, that was a hard one, I tried to stop thinking, it didn’t work. What I had to do was to stop thinking negative. I’d say my thinking was negative 75% of the time. Now I think I’m down to 25%. Way to go. One of the hardest was negative people. I got lucky on that one, if you want to call it lucky. Around the time I was working on all these problems the Corona Virus hit. Kind of a blessing in disguise, so to speak, the isolation part. One of my biggest medical problems, believe it or not was my brain. I had trouble remembering things, like people, words, things I should know. Even my mouth didn’t always work the way it should. As soon as I started avoiding as much of these things as I could, I started improving. There was something else I was doing that I didn’t know was good for me. When I was doing research I later found the best thing I could do for my health, especially my mental health, you won’t believe it, exercise. I didn’t believe it until I started seeing results. Except for my insulin, I am totally medication free. I’m still working on being insulin free. It’ll come, it has to. Can’t go into the woods without that.
Another thing that Kevin Trudeau mentioned a lot is what governments, pharmaceutical companies and other big businesses are doing that are not good for our health. And I believe it. I know he has opened many eyes and I’m sure he has helped millions of people, even myself. I’m hoping my book will help too.
Side note: There have been con men and greedy people since the beginning of time and there always will be. We can’t change that but you can avoid it for yourself. Remember Adam and Eve, they were conned into giving up paradise, and for what, an apple. Don’t be an Adam or an Eve.
When I started writing it was in the form of posts on facebook, then I though, why not a book, and here we are. I guess you could say “I’m in it for the money” or “it’s all about the money”. Sure I wouldn’t mind having a house or a newer car or helping my family and friends. I’m not interested in being filthy rich, but if I was, I’m sure I could help a lot of people.

Nicebo:
Definition: A Necebo effect is said to occur when negative expectations of the patient regarding a treatment cause the treatment to have a more negative effect than it otherwise would have. For example, when a patient anticipates a side effect of a medication, they can experience that side effect even if the medication is actually an inert substance. The opposite of the placebo effect.
When a pharmacy gives you a prescription, it usually comes with a long list of side effects. Isn’t that counter-productive? If I do have side effects might it not be because they put that thought in my head? I’d like to believe that doctor’s hearts are in the right place and pharmacists do care and it’s not, “all about the money”. I still have faith in people, most, anyway. Maybe too much, that’s just me.
Personally, I take everything with a grain of salt, not literally, that would be stupid. I’ve tried a few things, hoping they might work and some did and some didn’t. Some with good side effects and some with minor side effects. Live and learn, or not. I learned. I hope that my books can help you in some ways. Remember these are just my thoughts and opinions from my experiences. My thought is, maybe medications work for some people with no side effects and for some only supplements work. I can work with that, can you? Nacebo, one of life’s little ironies. Why does life have to be so hard? I suppose if it was easy everyone would do it. What can I say? What should I say? Maybe it’s not my place to say. But here it is, my two cents, five with inflation.

How to improve your life:
Believe it or don’t, the best way to improve your life is to improve your energy. Change any and all negative energy into positive energy. And how can you do that, you may ask? Simple, if you can find a way to change your thinking you can change your energy or vibration. Vibration is the essence for all life. Without vibration we cease to exist. As for me I vibrate a little too much. If I vibrated any more I could pass through solid objects like the Flash.
I live in an apartment, not the ideal situation for good energy. But it is possible to change your situation. To change our energy ( and this never occurred to me till now), My partner positive thinkingdecorates our balcony with flowers and we have a swing seat and an umbrella and some bird feeders. We get birds on the patio all the time. There are trees in front of our patio. When we sit on the patio or look out the patio doors we see this every day. Positive energy. I wish we could do this year round, but I can’t afford a place in Florida for the rest of the year. Think positive, the rest of the year can be good too. Fall with the changes of the leaves, winter with the beautiful white snow, spring with new buds and the birds returning. It’s so easy to think about the negative things around us, isn’t it? STOP IT. The ideal thing for everyone would be to have your own home with enough room to grow your own trees, flowers and have a garden to work on.
I have a friend, Paul, who also lives in an apartment. He has room in the back and in the front. He has pretty much turned them into a virtual paradise. Flowers, bushes and a small water fall. Talk about positive energy.
If a life like this is not possible for you, there is something you can do in the meantime. Use the energy from your brain. Yes, your brain produces energy. Enough energy to make you feel the way you would if you had all the things I described in the first few paragraphs. Think about it, really, think about all those things I talked about and just the thought of it will increase your energy. And if you think about it long enough and hard enough you might even think it into reality. That’s how strong positive thinking is. I can only change my thinking, I can’t change yours. Sorry. It’s up to you and only you. There are many books on the subject, one that comes to mind is “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne. In this book she mentions other books on the subject.
I hate to be negative, but you need to know. The opposite is true. If you live in a run down house or apartment you can be affected in a very negative way. How can you possibly think positive if everything around you is negative. If everything around you is negative, your life will reflect it. I f you are too poor to change your reality, then, just change the way you think, and the rest may follow. What can you lose?

Allergies, Side effects and poisons:
Do you know how many different kinds of allergies there are in the world? The number is staggering. Some people have a few, some have a lot and some have none. Why is that? No one knows. Some of these allergies are mild (just rashes) and some have been known to kill. There are many different forms these allergies might take. I’m not an expert so I don’t know. If one thousand people die from eating peanuts, does that mean we should protest or take peanuts off the shelves. No, what they do is make a vaccine for people who are allergic to peanuts. That makes more sense.
Did you know that when you take drugs or are given vaccines you can be affected in the same ways? Who’s to say that you are not allergic to medications or vaccines? I have heard of many different kinds of reactions to the corona virus vaccine. Examples: sore arms, rashes, temporary paralysis , your keys sticking to your body. Myself, I suffer from tremors and I need to take medication for this, and without my medication I can be in a lot of pain and so after I took the vaccine my medication was rendered useless for two weeks. I was not sure if this was permanent ( panic time) or not, but it wasn’t , thank God. Just a side effect, one in a million. That’s the thing, we don’t know. Like the flu vaccine shot, should we get it? I don’t know. People do die from the flu. Maybe not to the extent of the corona virus or peanuts but still.
Did you know that poisons are a lot like allergies and vaccines, they also can give you a bad reaction or they can kill you. Some poison, in the right quantity have been known to cure people.
It wasn’t that long ago that doctors use to bleed you to make you better or use leaches to cure you. Now if you take a vaccine your condemned and if you refuse a vaccine your condemned. Should a person be condemned for not taking a flu vaccine or any kind of vaccine or medical treatment that doesn’t go along with what is considered normal? And who is to decide what is normal? Everybody should be able to decide for themselves and no one should be able to tell you differently. I know I said that out loud.

Mysteries of the mind:
I was reading an article on google the other day having to do with the mind and how it works. In this article it talked about this man who heard voices and I mean voices, not just one voice but two. These two voices would argue and fight with each other, very loudly, in his head and it almost drove him crazy. He had to go see a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist couldn’t get rid of the voices so, he got council for the two voices in his head and now they get along and they don’t fight anymore, peace at last. I hear voices in my head too but that’s just me thinking. Don’t be alarmed everybody does it. If you don’t your not normal unless you answer back.
Back to mysteries of the mind. Hearing things is not the only mystery of the mind. I have my own mystery of the mind that you may find strange, to say the least. I hope I’m not the only one. If I am, maybe I should go for help or just enjoy it. Here it is. When I close my eyes I see things, mostly at night.
At first I thought I was dreaming, then I realized I was not asleep. I’ll give you some examples of some of the things I would see. You know that commercial first choice hair cutters where they show this head of a person, then his face changes from one face to another to another to another, I’ve seen something like that before the commercial even came out. Sometimes it was even monster faces. Other times, I would see like a small TV screen at a distance with a TV show on it. I don’t know what it was, no sound. One time just before my dad died I saw my father laying down, looking sickly and he looked like he was talking at high speed but there was no sound coming out of his mouth, a short time later he died.
Sometimes I see miles and miles of just gravel roads or miles of brick building, stuff like that. It looks so real, like I could almost touch it. Some things I see I can’t even talk about. One night I thought my eyes were open and I thought my partner was facing me with her eyes open, so I open my eyes and she was facing the other way. To make sure I wasn’t dreaming I closed my eyes and there she was looking at me again. Just the other night I was facing my partner and I saw an old man with a white beard and hair hoovering over her. These visions have been happening to me for years, so they don’t bother me or scare me any more. You get use to it like tinnitus. You have no choice, you live with it. You would be surprised what you can get use to in life. When I see these things I’m sure my eyes are open and I have to check to make sure. Some of you may think I’m crazy and maybe I am but at least I’m having fun. I can’t afford brain surgery so I’ll just live with it. Did I say that out loud? No, that was just a the little voice in my head. Go away! I’m in trouble, now I’m talking back. Since all this happened I found out it was all the medication I was taking, so I cut them out. No more hallucinations. Fun while it lasted. I stopped because of the other side effects which were harder to live with.

Health & Wellness:
I think about my health a lot. Do you? I try to read about what’s healthy for you and what’s not and I’m confused. First they tell you salt is bad for you and sugar is bad for you, then TV dinners, then processed foods, meat that is fed certain foods, fish that come from the ocean with too much mercury. You can’t eat fruits or vegetables because they are sprayed with pesticides, caned foods are not good for you, food wrapped in plastics are poison. Have I left anything out? Probably, Im not an expert. My only option, if I was rich, is to buy a farm in the middle of nowhere and grow and raise my own food. But, even then what are my chances? I would still have to deal with pollution and the ozone layer and lead poisoning is everywhere. I might be healthier but for how long?
Another thing I was wondering. All these experts that write all these wonderful books on what to eat what not to eat, which, by the way, seem to contradict each other like the doctors and scientists who talk about Corona Virus. What do they eat? Are they diligent at what they write about? Are they healthy? I don’t know, probably not.. Me, I eat what I have to, to survive. It might kill me some day, maybe not. I don’t think so. I take everything I’ve read with a grain of salt (not literally) just a pun. I exercise moderately, I’m careful what I eat, (not too much junk food or take out) I don’t over eat, I don’t drink too much alcohol and I don’t smoke. Another thing that is not mentioned enough in books is to avoid negative or toxic people.
I only started making most of these changes when I was 70 because I was already sick. So now, I am feeling 100% better because of all these changes. I don’t know if I’ll live to be 100 but you never know, but I’ll just take it one year at a time. Wish me luck. Maybe I should start smoking pot. Hmmmm. What do you think? Just a THOUGHT.

Positive thinking:
Over the years of reading, I have come across many books that talk about positive thinking. The most popular being the Bible. Another being, “The power of Positive Thinking”, and “The Secret”. Do you know where and when negative and positive thinking begin? It begins sometimes as early as the day we are born or earlier, believe it or not. Some parents try to instill positive thoughts in us early and succeed, for a while, and then television (cartoons) come into the picture (pun). It’s true not everyone is affected by TV but who’s to say who. Maybe I was maybe I wasn’t . If I would have been 6 foot two and 180 pounds maybe I would have been the bully instead of the bullied. Who’s to say? Then we go to school and a whole new set of negative things come into the picture, negative teachers and negative students .
Let’s get back to positive thinking. I think with the right motivation anyone can be positive but you have to work at it and you have to fight against the negative. It’s funny how negative thoughts and ideas come so easy and positive thoughts and ideas are dismissed so easily. Like they say, ( If good things were easy where would be the challenge?” Bed is so easy, that’s why everyone is doing it. We are living in a world right now in which it is hard to be positive. Believe it or not we are being condition still to think negative. By the media, by the people around us and sometimes by our own thinking. It’s important to question everything we hear and see, even ourselves even we can be wrong. Even I can be wrong. I know it’s hard for you to believe. One time I thought I was wrong and it turned out I was right. See. I hope you’re not too disappointed.

Nondisclosure agreements:
PLEASE READ: THIS IS IMPORTANT
I was sent an e-mail a while back concerning diabetes. What it said was that diabetics were being fooled into thinking that there is no cure. That there has been a cure for thousands of years and the pharmaceutical companies have known about this for years. This is not the first time I’ve heard about this. I’ve heard this spiel at least a half dozen times about different diseases and it sounds like the same voice delivering almost the exact same story.
Each time I hear these stories they are trying to discredit big Pharma and I don’t understand why. I’m not saying they are lying but I don’t know if they are telling the truth. It just sound a little fishy. Maybe there’s a reason for it. I don’t know. This is what I have trouble with. There are millions of doctors and millions of nurses and millions of pharmacists and millions of lab technicians all over the world who have vowed to do no harm but (presumably) have at the same time all signed a non disclosure not to say anything about all these cures for all these diseases.
Does that make sense to anyone? If people are willing to lose their jobs over a vaccine, why would so many people do such a thing? If you were one of these millions of people would you break your vow and say nothing so a few thousand people could get rich? Did they take these jobs to make someone else rich or to save lives? If you did, I feel sorry for you. I hope I’m wrong. Think about it.

The Brain:
The brain is the most fragile and complicated part of the human body. You might feel differently if you ever stubbed your big toe or kicked in the groin , but you would be wrong. In life, there are so many things that can go wrong with the brain, that’s why so many precautions are being taken these days to prevent brain damage. I remember when I was a kid, there was no such thing as hockey helmets or bicycle helmets, which is why I probably need spell check today.
Also, there are so many problems caused by what people do to each other mentally. Child abuse, verbal abuse and physical abuse, War. Then there’s bullying, (been there) not my happiest moments. Can’t forget sexual abuse (been there too). I don’t know too many people who haven’t been there, even the abusers, sorry to say. It had to start somewhere. I’m glad I didn’t pay it forward. When it comes to any kind of abuse not everyone is affected the same way. Personally, I think I did quite well. I didn’t kill anyone or myself. When it comes to the brain anything is possible.
They say everything is a choice but is it, or is it a sickness of the brain. Most people who have a problem, no matter how small, think it’s their fault, and it may not be, so they live their lives in fear, not seeking help. Maybe all it was, is a brain aneurism or a brain tumour. There have been so many cases of boxers, hockey players, football players just to mention a few who became violent only to find out that they had brain tumours, go figure. I mentioned in one of my other posts that I would see things when I closed my eyes at night and sometimes even with my eyes open. Since I got sick five years ago things have not been the same. I went for an MRI and the doctor said I was normal. That’s good. But what’s normal anymore? The world is not normal anymore. I think if you look up normal in the dictionary the definition of normal might have changed.
That’s odd. Usually I try to throw in a little levity in my thoughts but there is nothing funny about mental illness.

Essential Tremors:
I don’t know how doctors came up with that name but it was not apropos. Because there is nothing essential about this sickness. I’m not 100% sure but I think I’ve had it since I was a kid. I use to shake a lot around pretty girls and bullies. Maybe that’s a different problem. I tremble more when I become stressed.
I have to tell you this funny story. I can tell this story because I can relate.. This guy had tremors and he was at the bank standing in front of the teller with his hands in front of him and he was shaking and it looked like he was masturbating, but he wasn’t. Ever since then whenever I go somewhere I make sure I keep my hands in my pocket. It just looks like pocket pool.
When I started playing drums it came in pretty handy for drum rolls. When I got older I had to start sitting down to pee, because it got pretty messy and it would rust the baseboard heaters. I had to stop going to the barber because my head wouldn’t stop shaking long enough for him to cut my hair let alone trim my moustache. That’s why I shave my head now., with an electric razor, otherwise it could be dangerous. It’s a good thing we don’t have to use straight razors anymore. My mother passed diabetes to me and I passed it on to my kids. We are such a giving family. Who new? There are a lot of things I could mention but I won’t, you might not see the humour in it. You have to find humour in your life or you will be crying all the time and we don’t want that. Watching me type is funny too, funny to others but frustrating to me.. Just to mention a few. I could tell you more but it might be easier for me to go on Canada’s Got Talent as a comedy routine. Remember this, there are people worst off than you and me. I’m just glad I wasn’t born worse off. I could have been.

For Seniors:
Do I have your attention? If you are over 65 and you want to live to be 100 and healthy you will want to read this. Two years ago I thought I was on the verge of being put into a senior home. I was only 70. I had trouble walking around, I had trouble standing once I sat down. I had to sit down to take a shower. I would fall down a lot. I lost 30 pounds. What to do?
The first thing I did was I started to eat better, then I started to exercise. Then I started taking vitamins. All this seemed to help. I started gaining weight, I stopped falling down, I got stronger. I started to feel better.
I read a book on how to live longer and healthier by just doing a few more thing in my life. It seems I was already on the right path. And it’s not all that hard. Here are some of the things you can do. Eat less (no junk food) this way you save money 20%. Exercise at least 30 minutes/day, a tread-mill would be good for your heart., and you can get one on kijiji hardly used for next to nothing. When I started on the tread-mill in July I could barely walk 3 minutes, now I walk 15 minutes and run two minutes. Not bad for a 73 year old with a bad heart.
Turning down your heat in the winter can help you live longer too and you can save money on your electric bill.
Another thing that is good for prolonging life is resveratol which is found in red wine (Pinot Noir) . Drinking this wine can add an extra 5 years or more to your life. ( In moderation).
This is a quote from Dr. David A. Sinclair, PhD,
“Lifespan , Why we age- and Why we don’t have to”.
I felt better just reading the book. It gave me hope. It made me feel like I was on the right track. If you need any pointers or encouragement you can find me on facebook. This will help you feel better and live longer but it won’t make you better looking, my girlfriend will attest to that.
On a side note, I feel that science and doctors are taking three steps forward and politicians and greedy people are taking us two steps back and that is why we can’t live as long as we should be able to. Something to think about. I know only people who like to read will read this. Pity.

Dammed if you do and Dammed if you Don’t:
I don’t know how many people are going to read this but I hope it’s a lot. If you like it and you agree with it pass it on to as many people as you can . Because this situation that is going on in Canada and the US is going to affect a lot more people than you may realize in many more ways than you may realize. It’s a no win situation, believe me. I’m not a genius and I can see when its all over the trucking companies will not lose much but the truckers will. The cost of all products will double but wages and pensions will not. The economy will go to hell. Trudeau will lose his job but it won’t matter because he will still have his mansion on the hill and his cottage in the country and his large pension to live on.
I’ve noticed that it’s the people with the biggest mouths that complain the loudest but it’s the quietest that suffer the most. I’m tired of being quiet.
As far as Covid is concerned that’s a no win situation too. There are going to be losers on both sides there too, especially where friends and family are divided, and that’s a pity. Sure there are people having side effects from the vaccines, I was one of them and there were people who didn’t die from taking the vaccine. I was torn. Should I take the vaccine or not. It was a tough decision. I listened to both sides. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t. I thought, better safe than sorry., I thought. What doesn’t kill you….. well you know the rest. If you were in my place what would you have done. Something to think about. Flip a coin?
I’ll give you a few example of a few things that were forced upon us in the past and you tell me if you regret these things being imposed upon you. Seat belts, child restrains, drinking & diving laws, child abuse laws, spousal abuse laws and the list go’s on and on. Would you have protested? Some people resisted. Especially the seat belt law. When we have children we make rules for them to follow. Should we abandon those rules and let them do what they want. Give them a pair of scissors and let them run around the house? Leave a gun just laying around the house? That’s why we elect governments, to stop stupid people from doing stupid things. It doesn’t work 100% of the time but it works better than if it was run by just stupid people. So don’t elect me. Not that I would ever run.
